When you book a vacation on our crewed yacht charter in the Bahamas, we create an itinerary based on your preferences. We’ve prepared this 8-day sample itinerary that hops from island to island in the Exumas to give you an idea of what your trip may look like.
Day 1
Once you’ve arrived in Nassau, our crew meets you in Palm Cay, where Sail Synergy is located during the summer. Once everyone is settled in, we’ll set sail for Highbourne Cay—the “gateway to the Exumas”—where we’ll stay on the first night. Highbourne includes colorful reefs for snorkeling. Some guests choose to dine onshore at Xuma Restaurant & Bar, where you can enjoy sunset views overlooking the bay.
Day 2
After breakfast, we’ll sail to Norman’s Cay, where you can snorkel a submerged plane with a shady past or spend time above water wakeboarding or tubing. Later, we’ll sail to Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands where we’ll anchor for the night.
Day 3
Another memorable day begins with sailing to Compass Cay and the chance to swim with (very friendly) sharks at the marina. After that once-in-a-lifetime experience, many of our guests spend the day relaxing on one of the secluded and pristine sandy beaches. We’ll drop anchor for the night at Compass Cay.
Day 4
Our next destination, Staniel Cay, is among the most popular. Located in the center of the chain of islands that make up the Exumas, Staniel Cay is where you can swim with pigs and explore onshore. Another highlight is snorkeling or swimming in the Thunderball Grotto caves, a truly breathtaking experience you won’t forget. We’ll anchor for the night. Guests can request to dine onshore if they wish.
Day 5
It’s off to Little Hall’s Pond Cay and the chance to snorkel in a plane wreck and the nearby Sea Aquarium, a natural gathering of colorful fish that’s sheltered from waves and currents and features diverse corals. We’ll anchor here for the night.
Day 6
Another spot that many of our guests consider a must-see is Allen Cay, a thin, uninhabited island that’s home to rock iguanas only found in the Bahamas. You can swim with the iguanas or just observe them as you explore the cay’s beaches. We’ll anchor for the night.
Day 7
We’ll sail to Rose Island, just off Nassau, which boasts white, sandy beaches, coves, and the chance to swim with turtles. You can also enjoy beers or cocktails at one of the island’s beach bars and reminiscence about the highlights of your vacation. Our last night is spent anchored off Rose Island.
Day 8
A short sail back to Nassau and Palm Cay.
